House Hippo and The Power of Television

"The North American House Hippo"

"The North American house hippo is found throughout Canada and the Eastern United States. House hippos are very timid creatures and they are rarely seen, but they will defend their territory if provoked. They come out at night to search for food, water, and materials for their nests."

Of course, this 1999 CCA Commercial wasn't real, as it states in the final few words of the advertisement. The main goal of this Public service announcement was to inform children on critical thinking, especially relating to what they see on Modern television. no matter  How real everything can look, they can't believe everything they hear.

This public announcement gives a perfect representation Of the quick impulsive nature of the human child's mind.

(Commercial for a trip to Europe)... "Mom! Can we go to Europe?!"...

(Commercial about the House hippos).... "Mom! Can I get a House Hippo?!"...

No matter what or where, if its there, their minds absorb the information or crave the item. In the end the idea is that not only these young children, by teenagers as well surfing the Internet, television, anything,  need to be aware of false claims and fake information. For myself being raised in the technology era, I firmly believe as well this problem needs to be addressed.
